PURPOSE

Total possible investment of $15,000
Do you own a business that could benefit from exterior beautification? Would you like to be considered for an exterior grant of up to $15,000?

The goal of the program is to support local businesses in urban corridors
throughout the city by beautifying the exterior of their business. Some examples of this may include landscape design, lighting, outdoor furniture,
outdoor art, painting, decals, and outdoor signage.
ELIGIBLE
IMPROVEMENTS
Awnings
Protective facade improvement attached to the exterior wall of the building. Variety of colors and materials (e.g. vinyl, polyester, and cotton).
Umbrellas/
Shades
Movable and collapsible shade for weather protection. Selected
size, shape, and color
to match the
business brand.
Lighting
Festoon/cafe lights, also known as string lights, or party lights. Strings of hanging lights globes/bulbs hung from two different structures (e.g. posts, beams, poles).
Landscape Elements
Large planters and planting materials. Placed to frame business, protect seating area, and/or enhance the streetscape.
Seating
Expand business capacity by adding outdoor movable cafe seating. Selected style, color, and material to match business character.
Signage/
Graphics
Graphic assistance to promote, identify, provide information, give directions, and / or raise awareness and visibility of the business brand and identity.
Art
(Sculptures/
Murals)
Placemaking through art installation. Engage local artist to provide an attractive, meaningful, and appropriate piece in a large format.
